Cutting back our oak tree

The local council had asked us to get something done about our oak tree, which overhangs the footpath and which they deemed ‘dangerous’. To be fair, we know it’s slowly dying, and had been meaning to get the dead wood removed from it again for ages. So on Monday 13th February we had a local firm in to cut out the dead wood. I took the opportunity to go out with the camera and take some photos, which I’ve whittled down to 3 for you…

Surprisingly, it wasn’t in as bad a condition as we thought, so there was rather more of the tree left when they’d finished than we expected. This shot was taken today, as the light was really good this morning…
