Another big storm

Friday 14th February 2014

We had more weather warnings out for this area today, and they weren’t wrong. During the day the rain was torrential at times. Max and I went over Upton Heath in the morning and if I hadn’t been in full waterproof gear (as I am most days at the moment) I would have got very wet. Max certainly got very wet. Here he is in the stream along the Roman Road. You can see the water level is almost to the top of the little bridge behind him.

Max in a very swollen stream

We came home via Creekmoor Ponds, and I took him to the pond nearest to the house to wash him off. Fortunately he was so excited to get in the water that he ran right past this frog sitting on the top of the steps.

Frog prince?

I moved it before he came back up the steps and spotted it, fearless frog hunter that he is.

Once the rain eased a bit the wind started and built up over the course of the evening. It was a pretty wild and windy night.
