Jez seemed to have a better night last night and managed without having pain meds in the middle of the night. I also halved her pain meds today and she has coped ok.
In the morning I took Max to Upton Country Park. There is still a real chill to the wind, so it’s ok if you’re in the sun, but pretty chilly if you’re not. We started out in sun but then it clouded over. I only managed one photo from our walk: of some blossom.
At then end of the walk we came home via Pets at Home. The vet had said to walk Jez on a harness if we take her out, as we shouldn’t be putting any pressure on her neck. She has got a couple of harnesses already, but I have to manhandle her front legs into them, so I managed to get her one she could just step into. Here she is modelling it later in the afternoon.
After we got back from Pets at Home I had to go and do the grocery shopping, so we ended up having a late lunch. And then in the afternoon Jez wanted to go for a little walk, so I took her out round Creekmoor Ponds again. After that she was a lot more settled and had clearly got her appetite back, based on the amount she ate. Her behaviour is slowly returning to normal too, which we take as a good sign. I think we’re just going to have to give her time to recover from whatever is wrong, and rest her and keep her as comfortable as we can in the meantime.
A year ago today
I was busy baking blueberry muffins and Easter biscuits.
