After the storms

Saturday 19th July 2014

We had huge thunderstorms overnight, and the thunder was still rumbling around for most of the morning. Jez was not a happy dog. But at least the rain had stopped by lunchtime, so it was a dry walk for Max and I over Upton Heath in the afternoon (Jez decided that she didn’t want to come with us).

It was still pretty cloudy though…

… and the skies looked as though they could deliver more rain before the day was out.

Round the back of this hill I found gorse and heather in bloom.

And when we got to the bottom of the hill Max was happy again as there was some water in the gully, although he was more intent on chewing his stick.

All in all it was a good walk: it was just a shame Jez wasn’t with us.

A year ago today

Max and I went to Upton Country Park where I came across this lovely young robin.
