Monday 21st July 2014
The forecasters say it’s going to be a scorcher today, so we were about an hour earlier on our Monday morning walk over Upton Heath. Nevertheless it was still really hot and Jez had to cool down in the first pond she came to.
My intention had been to walk around fairly quickly and get home before it got too hot, but coming back across the Heath we met a gentleman we know with his rescue Staffy, Bobby.
Jez was having a rest in the shade at the time, and I was sitting close by, so I stayed where I was and chatted for about 10-15 minutes, all the while using it as an excuse to give Bobby lots of cuddles. He is really such a lovely, friendly boy.
Eventually we moved on, and after yet another cool down in the stream along the Roman Road we walked home via Creekmoor Ponds, where both dogs went in the water yet again.
In the afternoon Chris was sitting in the garden with the dogs, so I took the camera out and joined them. Here are Jez and Max.
And here’s Chris.
And this is my favourite one – of Chris and Max.
Next time I’ll have to try and get some photos of Jez and Chris.
