Monday 11th August 2014
Yes, it’s Monday, so it must be Upton Heath. To be honest I thought we were going to get rained on, and as we emerged from the pines we did have one or two spits and spots.
But then the sun came out and it was nice and warm. So Jez was glad of a bit of shade once we got to the small birch coppice.
And, it’s that time of year again when the fungi are starting to emerge. First, as always are these Scleroderma citrinum. This one is just breaking through the soil.
I’ll be on the lookout for all types of fungi from now on, because there’s one thing that can be said about fungi: they don’t move, so they are easy to photograph!
A year ago today
We went to Badbury Rings for our walk.
