A gentle stroll on Upton Heath

Saturday 27th September 2014

Well, that’s what it was supposed to be. And for the most part, that’s what it was. I didn’t do our normal Saturday afternoon walk on Upton Heath as I thought it would be too long. So instead I drove the dogs over and we did the circular walk of the lower heath. It was a fairly restrained affair with lots of sniffing, some chatting, and some lying down.

Time for a rest

And so it continued, until we got to the woods along the Roman Road, at which point Jez decided to take off and run through the woods. Unfortunately she chose the path that runs alongside Longmeadow Lane, which is actually quite a busy road. And there is no fencing, which always annoys me as the council try to encourage people to walk their dogs through those woods. So I had to take off after her with Max in tow, which didn’t do much for his strained cruciate ligament. I’m pleased to say I managed to get hold of her before she ran onto the road. I’ll have to keep more of an eye on her along there in future.

A year ago today

We were down at Parkstone Bay, where the tide was out.
