A grey afternoon on Canford Heath

Sunday 4th January 2015

Well, at least it wasn’t raining, and at least it wasn’t too cold. Otherwise today didn’t have a lot to recommend it. I took both Jez and Max to Canford Heath in the afternoon. I parked in Steeple Close and we followed the path along the southern edge of the heath next to the housing estate. Jez likes to go that way occasionally, although it’s a bit of a long walk for her. When we are almost at our furthest point we climb the hill up to the main east-west path across the heath, joining it at the junction with the old coach road. As we walked back towards the car I took the same view that I took on 30th December 2014, only this time without the fog.

Looking towards Poole

And here’s another one a bit further along.

View over Poole

The fog and sunshine last week certainly enhanced the view, don’t you think?

And lastly, for a bit of fun, I turned the camera to the fisheye setting and took a photo of Max as we walked up the hill.

Max gets nosy

You can just make Jez out on the brow of the hill to his right.

Max and I went to a very wet and muddy Upton Heath. Here’s Max after 5 minutes walking up the Roman Road.

I've got a two-tone dog again
