Some sunshine for our walk on Upton Heath

Tuesday 17th March 2015

Max and I were a day late for our Monday morning walk on Upton Heath. The reason was that I had to take Dad to the eye clinic for a check up yesterday morning so never took the dogs for a walk. When we arrived at the Heath one of the Dorset Wildlife Trust wardens was there together with a man and his tractor.

There's work to be done on Upton Heath

Seems they were there to do some clearance work on the lower heath (this photo was obviously taken a bit later in our walk).

Work in progress

Max didn’t care much for conservation work though. He was quite happy in the pond…

… and in the little pool by the boardwalk.

I've got to throw that cone again

And to prove that we actually had some sunshine, here’s one of the Exmoor Ponies, nicely lit by the sun.

As usual we came home via Creekmoor Ponds. En route we pass a magnolia tree, which is just starting to come into bloom.

Magnolia

What a welcome sight.

A year ago today

We met the Exmoor ponies on Upton Heath, but it wasn’t quite such a nice day.
