Sunday 24th May 2015
It wasn’t a particularly great day today: not to cold, but overcast. Rather than go to Canford Heath as usual on a Sunday I decided to take both Jez and Max back to our new Lychett Bay walk. This was the first visit of Jez, and she always likes going somewhere new.
Here are the dogs walking along the path next to the reed beds.
When we got to the ‘beach’ area Jez waded in, but Max just wanted me to throw his cone.
Here’s another photo of the little rowing boat moored there.
From here we headed along the shore to the boats. Max went on ahead and I followed. Jez lagged behind (she was taking a keen interest in a rabbit hole). As I waited I suddenly spotted one of the young foxes again, which scurried off into the trees. Just to be on the safe side, though, I put Jez on the lead and led her past the spot where they’d been playing.
Being the week-end there was some activity down by the boats. The tide was out slightly further, which meant that this boat looked as though it had taken a bit of a nose dive into the sand.
And here’s another view of that old wreck.
As I said earlier in the week, this is a ‘there and back’ walk, so having walked ‘there’ we then walked back. Jez had to stop for a couple of rests en route. It’s not a long walk, but it any further would have been too much for her.
A year ago today
We had a bit of a damp walk on Upton Heath.
